at war with

                                                              at war
                                                              with the world
                                                              fighting
                                                              this flesh
                                                              striving
                                                              with self
                                                              struggling
                                                              with sin

                                                              only God
                                                              knows about
                                                              this troubling
                                                              conflict
                                                              within

                                                              and only
                                                              by the grace
                                                              of  God and
                                                              by God's grace
                                                              will win

                                                              spark of light

                                                              our lives are
                                                              just a fast
                                                              flash in the
                                                              dark of night

                                                              some are drawn
                                                              to the great
                                                              and good holy
                                                              arc so bright

                                                              some are called
                                                              by the word
                                                              and are made to
                                                              hark made contrite

                                                              some are shown
                                                              eyes opened
                                                              to see the
                                                              stark and might

                                                              some are  His
                                                              forever
                                                              made by His
                                                              mark upright
