flakes of snow

                                                      flakes of snow falling so
                                                      steadily and silently
                                                      flooding the landscape
                                                      all around me
                                                      rising so rapidly
                                                      quickly and quietly
                                                      everything in sight
                                                      sinking so softly
                                                      down into the deep
                                                      dusty still white sea
